Friday 9th May

Day began with saying a sorry good bye to Dan who set off for his home in Pennsylvania, we will miss him, he was great company and gave us invaluable advice on how to use petrol pumps etc!
Stopped at Meramec Caverns, took tour, warmer and dryer underground than above! Good tour though. Stopped for coffee somewhere, not where we intended to be, but stuff happens.....
mainly on route 66 for the afternoon, not easy to follow the exact route. Saw some really pretty countryside, the Ozarks are very green and lush. Trailer trash abounds though, crap home but great trailer and truck! Eventually found hotel, ok, and they actually had real interent, not just WiFi, so been able to bring things up to date. No restaurant though, so walked to a diner almost next door (via a long detour). So another early night to prepare us for our 200 miles or so tomorrow.
